Product Monday: Maybelline's Define-a-Brow Eyebrow Pencil Review

Hello Beauties!

It's time for Product Monday once again and I wanted to share with you all a new staple in my makeup bag.  An eyebrow pencil is an item I use daily

I mentioned in a previous blog MAC's eyebrow liner.  At first I loved the pencil and then I began to notice that the pencil barely lasts a month and for the price ($15), I didn't feel I was getting my money's worth.  I wasn't sure what to do and then one day, I began to notice fellow blogger Fully Beatable always uses Maybelline's Define-a-Brow liner.  I decided to give it a try.  Let's just say this...  I just bought my second one and it lasts longer than a month!  For around $6, you can't beat it!

Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Dark Brown (top) & MAC's Eyebrow Liner in Stud (bottom)

As you can see in the above picture, Maybelline's liner is just a tad lighter but barely noticeable.

Also, it has a comb on one end so that you can groom your brows.  I love this because it adds convenience.  Also, let me add that it's waterproof and lasts me all day.  I've worn it for over 12 hours before with no smudging.

Do you have a favorite eyebrow liner?  Let me know!  God bless you.

Target.com Haul [4 Items = Less Than $80!]

Hello Beauties!

It's a beautiful Sunday.  I hope it's just as beautiful where you are.  We made it safely through Hurricane Irene yesterday.  Unfortunately, my mom and others in my hometown do not have power so if you believe in prayer, please say a little prayer for them.

You all know that I believe in finding a bargain and I found it in an unlikely place.  Target is one of my favorite stores and I peruse their clearance items quite often.  I noticed that the Target stores around this area  can barely keep clearance items on the shelf so I thought...  "Why not check online?"  Now, I love Target's clearance online!

Check out what I got:

Purchased in Olive & Chocolate - $12.48/each
Nude Wedge - $29.99
Denim Tuxedo Blazer - $13.98
In total, I spent less than $80 for all four of these items.  How awesome is that?  Plus, shipping is FREE for purchases of $50 or more.

By this being the end of a season, it's a great time buy new items and save money.

Where are some of your best clearance finds?

God bless & stay fabellis,

25th Birthday!

Hello Beauties!

I have had such a busy week but the absolute highlight of my week was my birthday.  I turned 25 on Thursday and it was one of the absolute best days of my life.  It started with beautiful birthday cards and ended with the best Martinis I've ever had.

Lunch @ Sushi Blues (Downtown)
After lunch, I went for my first visit to a spa.  It was amazing!  I had a back purification and massage and a deluxe foot treatment.  A-MA-ZING!!!  This was all done by the owner at Restorations Holistic Skin Care here in Raleigh.  They were awesome.  Check out their site:  HERE or call 919-846-6141.  It's well worth a visit!

From there, I went to see a free screening of "Colombiana," which was surprisingly good and then I went out for appetizers and headed downtown.

I had such a great day!  Thanks to all who gave me birthday wishes!  God bless you!

Product Monday: Sephora by OPI Chic Prints Review

Hello Beauties!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and made it through the first day of the week.  My weekend was great.  Most of you may not know but my 25th birthday is this Thursday so I went home to celebrate my birthday with my mom.  We went to see "The Help" last night.  Great movie!

I digress...  I wanted to come to you all with a product I recently tried last week.  From previous posts, you may notice that I love doing my nails.  I think nail prints and colors are FUN and really make an outfit pop.  Well, I'm already a HUGE of Sally Hansen's Nail Effects as you may remember.  [I previously blogged on this item.  Check it out HERE.]  I decided to try Sephora by OPI's version of the already popular ready-to-wear nail strips called Chic Prints.

Leopard Chic Prints - $15
These prints are available at Sephora online and in store.  Although these were more expensive than the Sally Hansen Nail Effects, I decided to give them a whirl when I saw them on my last Sephora run. Here's what I thought:

Pros
  • Durable [They lasted through shampooing, washing dishes, typing, etc.]
  • Unique patterns
Cons
  • Expensive [These are on average $5 more than Sally Hansen's Nail Effects, which you can get typically on BOGO at a drugstore.]
  • Not Easy to Bend [In order to form these to your fingernail, you must bend and file off the excess.  I found this very hard to do.]

All in all, I don't think I would buy these again for the mere fact that I could get TWO boxes from Sally Hansen's line for the price of one of these.

What do you think?  Have you tried them?  Let me know what you think!  As always, God bless you.

BIG News & Product Monday [L'Oréal leGloss]

Hello Beauties!

I'm sorry that I've been away longer than anticipated.  I actually recorded a YouTube video on Monday that I wanted to share but had trouble with formatting so... I will just write a blog for now, lol.

I wanted to share two things with you.  You may notice already but... I bought the domain for my website!  I felt that it was time to take the site to a new level and this would be the perfect way.  Thank you to everyone that takes the time to visit.  I appreciate all the encouragement and feedback.

In addition to buying the domain, I want to incorporate "Product Monday."  This will basically highlight products I want to share with you all that I feel are noteworthy or just the new .  Here is the first product I want to share:

L'OREAL leGloss

I kept seeing this in drugstores recently and I'm already naturally intrigued by lip gloss.  I figured I'd give it a try and I have to say...  I like it.  It has a nice, thick texture to it but it's not sticky.  It also lasts awhile.  It reminds me a lot of MAC's LipGelee (but nothing can top that to me).  I think it's a good buy and for $8, you can't beat it.

[Note:  I have found several coupons for this item in my Sunday paper.  Be on the lookout for them too!  Great way to try something new and save a few dollars.]

Comments?  Leave them for me and as always, God bless you!

Clinique Gift Time!

Hello Beauties!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  My weekend mainly consisted of work; however, I did get the opportunity to see two great movies.  I saw "Bridesmaids" and "Jumping the Broom."  I'm unsure why I watched two wedding movies back to back (typically not my style), but I loved them.  "Bridesmaids" was epic!  If you haven't seen it, please do yourself a favor and see it.

Moving on...  I wanted to come to you all really quickly to let you know that Belk is currently offering a Clinique gift with any Clinique purchase of $21.50 or more.  Clinique is skincare I live by.  Clinique is what I have used since high school and it really is something I recommend to anyone.  [To read more about my skincare regimen, click HERE.]

Here is the gift:

This is an awesome gift, but the best part of the gift is the Even Better moisturizer.  This moisturizer is made to fade scars on your face within six weeks.  I have been using it for a week and my skin is already brighter!  This is an awesome time to try new products

Sale ends 8/20/2011.

God bless!

Cream and Coco Handmade All-Natural Skincare [Review: Part Two]

Hello Beauties!

As many of you know, I received a few samples from Cream & Coco, a natural skincare and hair care line, last week.  A huge thanks again to the owner Victoria for sharing these products with me!  I was able to try all of the products last week and I wanted to share with you how I enjoyed each one.

1.  Mocha Sumatra Soap - I think I fell in love with the smell of this soap before I even used it.  It's made with coffee so the aroma of coffee hit me as soon as I picked it up.  It's made to help awaken and firm your skin.  In the morning, I'm usually dragging and this perked me right up.  The smell alone makes it worthy!

2.  Tea & Honey [Hair Honey] - I really enjoyed this scalp moisturizer.  The smell reminds of something I've used by Dr. Miracle before, but the feel of it on my scalp is so unique.  It gives me a scalp and tingle and left it moisturized for several days.  I currently am rocking a sew-in and I had the stylist put this on my scalp.  I loved the way it felt.

3.  Carrot Mango Shampoo Bar - Am I the only one who has never used a shampoo bar before?  This was my first time EVER using a shampoo bar, but I have to say...  There is something convenient about this method.  The shampoo bar actually saves room and a mess in your shower.  Plus, as soon as the water hit it and I rubbed it on my hair, it began to lather.  I loved the fragrance of it as well.  I did notice that my hair felt a tad dry after using it but I think I may have used too much considering I washed it twice.  Once I put on my leave in conditioner, my hair was right back to it's usual softness.  I think I will continue to enjoy this after I take out my sew-in.

4.  Curls for Days Hair Pudding - I had only a few days before I had my sew-in installed so I wanted to make sure to try this.  I enjoyed this hair pudding.  It has a creamy texture but it's not thick.  It has a bit of looseness to it that makes it easy for your hair to absorb.  It left my hair soft with tight curls.  It was suggested that I use a paddle brush with the product to increase definition.  I will try that next time.  This is a favorite by many of Victoria's customers so I want to try it with a paddle brush next time.

Again, a HUGE thank you to Victoria at Cream & Coco for sharing these products with me.  I hope you all enjoyed the review!

Hello Beauties!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I'm not sure why I'm up so late knowing I have to work tomorrow, but at any rate, I wanted to show you all a few quick photos from an outfit I recently wore.  This outfit was something I threw together, but definitely enjoyed. Hope you like it!

Cream and Coco Handmade All-Natural Skincare [Review: Part One]

Hello Beauties!

I have a special treat for you all.  Ever heard of Cream and Coco?  Well, if you haven't, this may be a product line you may want to get to know.  Cream and Coco was created by a NC State graduate named Victoria who has a knack for natural skincare and hair care.  When I learned about her line, I asked for a few samples to try to show you all.  I received them in the mail today and let me tell you...  I could smell them before I even opened my mailbox!  They smell awesome and not only that, they look beautiful!  I plan to try these products over the next few days.  Until then, take a gander at these babies...  Also, thanks again Victoria!
