Product Monday: Jordana FabuBrow Eyebrow Pencil

Hello Beauties!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  My weekend was great.  I went home to spend time with my mother and church family.  I also picked up a few goodies from Walgreens while I was home.  One of those goodies prompted me to do this review today.  I originally wanted to touch on my ZOYA nail polish I finally received last weekend, but I will save that for a future post.

The goodie that sparked my interest today is the Jordana FabuBrow Eyebrow Pencil.  Honestly, I haven't used a Jordana product since high school.  In fact, I had forgotten about the brand until I saw some of their products recently in the blogosphere.  Since I was home, I decided to visit our local Walgreens because by it being a smaller town, they tend to have items in stock longer than in bigger cities.  As I was browsing around, I saw this product.  I was intrigued by the brush on the end and the price ($3) so I picked it up.

I currently use Maybelline's Define-a-Brow in Dark Brown so I wanted to compare the two.  Here are the two swatches:

Top:  Maybelline Define-a-Brow in Dark Brown, Bottom:  Jordana FabuBrow in Dark Brown
As you can see from the pictures, the Jordana FabuBrow pencil is a lighter than Maybelline; however, it isn't a huge difference.  I have used the Jordana FabuBrow eyebrow pencil for the past two days and there are several things I like about it, but I did find one con.

Pros

  • Affordable Prices ($3)
  • Creamy
  • Long Lasting
  • Blendable
Cons
  • Limited Color Variety

My Thoughts

Overall, I do love this eyebrow pencil.  The creaminess of the pencil reminds me a great deal of the MAC eyebrow pencil I used at one point, which Maybelline Define-a-Brow lacks.  However, I feel that the Maybelline Define-a-Brow really depicts dark brown when you use it.  On me, I felt this product was a tad too light.  In fact, I used the Jordana FabuBrow pencil to line the brow, but a little bit of Maybelline Define-a-Brow to fill it in.  I could see myself purchasing it again, but I do feel I would need a dark shade to do the actual fill in.

Here are a few photos of me wearing this combination I described:

What are your thoughts?  Do you use any drugstore eyebrow pencils?

Thanks for reading!  Also, I have received a few comments (positive and suggestions) on my eyebrows and I appreciate your comments.  God bless!

  2. Your brows always look great.  I sometimes use the Maybelline Define-a-Brow but most of the time I use my MAC brow pencil since it's almost the same price with my pro discount. I love the Wet 'n Wild Brow Kit though. Super cheap and works wonders!
