Product Monday: Wet 'n Wild "I Heart Matte" Palette

Hello Beauties!

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your week.  My week has started off productive, which is always great!  Today I want to share with you all my review of an eyeshadow palette I recently purchased.  Now I have to be honest...  I wasn't sure if I should review this palette because this was a limited edition item that may no longer be available at your nearest Walgreens; however, I have a new-found love for Wet 'n Wild products and I wanted to really share this with you all.

Today I am reviewing the Wet 'n Wild "I Heart Matte" Eye Shadow Palette.  For my avid beauty lovers, I am sure you may have already heard of this palette.  This palette was a limited edition item only sold at Walgreens during the recently passed holiday season.

Walgreens:  $4.99
I actually learned of this palette after it had already been removed from Walgreens' shelves.  I then used my back up plan and found it on E-Bay.  In a sense, that is why I still wanted to feature this item because if you are like me...  You will find what you want!

More Product Views:

I rarely used matte shades in the past, but I have fallen in love with them as of late.  They are perfect for neutral looks and I love blending and adding them to shimmery looks as well.

Swatches over Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance:

Aren't they beautiful?  These shadows are smooth and swatched like a dream.  Other reviewers have complained about the black and purple shades being patchy, but I did not experience this issue.

Pros
  • Affordable
  • GREAT pigmentation
  • Long lasting
Cons
  • None!

My Thoughts
I honestly love all of the colors.  Every time I use a Wet 'n Wild product, I am pleasantly surprised.  I absolutely love this palette and I think it can be used for various look.  I can see myself getting the most use out of the neutral side.  The peachy color (second at the top) is great for a neutral eye!

What do you all think of this palette?  Is it worth trying to find?  Thanks for reading & God bless!

    My Natural Hair Journey [October-January]

    Hello Beauties!

Happy Friday!  I hope that you all have had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend.  My week was insanely busy, but productive.  I wanted to do an update today on my natural hair journey.  Many of my new followers may not know that I chose to go natural in March of 2011.  I am closely approaching a year of my natural hair journey and it has been great thus far!  I have learned so many things about my hair and styles I really enjoy.  Some of my favorite styles are two strand twists, braid outs and braids.

The last time I did a natural hair update I had straightened my hair for a length check.  Shortly after, I decided to try the Solange-style box braids.  Below are photos of my hair from my length check in October until now.

As a reminder, this is how my hair looked in March of 2011.

    See how it has grown...

I currently am wearing a sew in as a protective style now.  I actually enjoy braids more than sew ins but I wanted something new and a little fun.

Also, for my natural hair, I am still using the same products mentioned HERE.  I have adopted one product into my regimen that I love!

I love this product for deep conditioning my hair.  When I wash my hair with Shea Moisture's Curl & Shine Shampoo, I like to follow up with this.  I saturate my hair and cover with a plastic cap.  I let it condition for about 30-60 minutes before rinsing.  My hair comes out soft and shiny.  I love it!  Also, I plan to use this with future braid outs.

Are any of you out there on the natural hair journey as well?  Please share any tips or products you use.

Thanks for reading & God bless!  Have a great weekend!

    OOTD: Leopard & Stripes

    Hello Beauties!

One of the best parts about blogging and following fellow bloggers is that you constantly inspire each other.  Last month, I was reading a post from STYLISH CURVES about mixing prints and it really made me think for a moment.  I realized that although I may do various color combinations, I have never mixed prints.  I was intrigued so I took a baby step into trying it out.

    Check it out:

The great thing about this outfit is that I literally purchased just about every piece off of clearance ranks.  I am a huge clearance and thrift store shopper.  Sometimes you can score the best pieces if you just take the time to look!

So what do you think of mixing prints?  Yay or nay?

    Thanks for reading!  God bless.

    Product Monday: Revlon Lip Butters

    Hello Beauties!

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  My weekend and first day of the week was extremely busy, but I have great news!  I have my computer back!  It was being worked on last week but now I have it back up and running.  With that being said, let's get into Product Monday.

It has been awhile since I have done Product Monday, but I haven't forgotten!  Now what better product to start the first Product Monday of 2012 with than one of the number one beauty products of many beauty bloggers... Revlon Lip Butters.  I had heard much about these butters yet paid no attention.  Well, they soon grabbed my attention because as I started visiting cosmetic sections in different stores, I started to notice that most displays of the infamous lip butters were... EMPTY!  Then I started to see that many beauty bloggers named it as their #1 beauty product of 2011.

Once I saw this, I had to try them...

[L-R]:  Lollipop, Strawberry Shortcake, Pink Truffle, Peach Parfait, Creme Brulee, & Sugar Plum

[L-R]:  Lollipop, Strawberry Shortcake, Pink Truffle

[L-R]:  Peach Parfait, Creme Brulee, & Sugar Plum

[Top-Bottom]:  Lollipop, Strawberry Shortcake, Pink Truffle, Peach Parfait, Creme Brulee, & Sugar Plum
    Pros
    • Extremely moisturizing
    • Great pigmentation (depending on color)
    • Convenient case
    • Affordable price
    Cons
    • Some colors are not as pigmented as others
    • Color fades extremely fast
    My Thoughts

Overall, I like the lip butters; however, I don't quite think they deserve all of the hype they received.  Now don't get me wrong...  I love a moisturizing lip product and the fact that it includes color is awesome, but the fact that I have to apply it several times a day is a turn off.  Plus, some of the colors do not show up at all.

I feel that this is a great product if you are more in favor of lip glosses, are a fan of just a touch of color or are a newbie with lipsticks.  So, with that being said, what do you all think?  Have you tried them?

Thank you for all the great comments recently and hello to all my new followers!  I attempted to do this post yesterday; however, I had a little trouble posting from my phone so, I'm back today.  :-)

I hope you all have had a great week.  My week has been quite busy (TGIF)!  As many of you may have seen from my last thrifting adventure, I grabbed a bold printed shirt for around $1.  I paired it today with a solid blazer and skirt to make it work appropriate.
