Protective Style: Partial Curly Hair Sew-In (Model Model Deep Weave)

Hello Beauties!

It has been awhile since I took down my senegalese twists and I was feeling ready for a new style.  Plus, I needed a break from natural hair, but I digress...  After seeing a picture of natural hair vlogger, Ambrosia's, curly hair clip ins, I was inspired and really wanted to find a style similar to what she was rocking.

I wasn't able to find the exact hair she used; however, I got the same brand in a different curl pattern.  I used the Model Model Pose Deep Weave, which I found at my local beauty supply store.

To get my first impressions of the hair, check out the video below:

Miss Jessie's Curly Meringue Review

Hello Beauties!

It has been far too long since I have done a review on natural hair products!  [See my last review here.] Today, I want to share my personal experience with the wildly popular Miss Jessie's Curly Meringue.  I recently received a small jar of the Meringue from a giveaway I won from Tajuana over at Curvy, Natural, & Loving It!  When I received it, I was a bit skeptical because of my own personal experiences with the Curly Pudding and the overall cost of the products.  Before we get into my results and thoughts of the product, let's learn more about Curly Meringue.

Beautiful Textures Hair Care Presents Curly Couture

Hello Beauties!

Last Thursday, people all over the world celebrated Fashion's Night Out.  While I would have loved to have been in New York, I was able to celebrate right here in North Carolina at Belk.

As you may have seen over the days following Fashion's Night Out, there were plenty of events to attend in New York City and one of my favorite natural hair companies (find out why here) highlighted trends in natural hair during this fashionable night.

Beautiful Textures Hair Care presented Curly Couture where recording artist, Teyana Taylor hosted.  The event included hand-crafted works of hair art by Emmy-Award winning hairstylist, Hadiiya Barbel, an open bar, and posh noshes from Harlem’s legendary Sylvia’s Restaurant.

Interview: My Brown Box

Hello Beauties!

In today's society, there's no need to browse most beauty stores because you can have some of the newest, most exclusive beauty items delivered to your doorstep.  With monthly beauty subscriptions rising on the scene, you have the ability to have some of the newest items in your hands even before most consumers.

If you're a beauty lover like myself, then this is great, but as I saw with my first beauty subscription, not all of these subscriptions are geared towards women of color.  When Brittney, founder of My Brown Box, realized the need for this, she took action.  She chose to create My Brown Box.  I wanted to take the time to learn more about Brittney and My Brown Box so I recently interviewed her.

Belk Celebrates Fashion's Night Out

Hello Beauties!

As many of you know, Thursday was Fashion's Night Out and throughout the world, the art of fashion was celebrated.  Since I'm in North Carolina, I automatically assumed that my area would not be having an event, but I was wrong!  Belk at Crabtree Valley Mall celebrated Fashion's Night Out on the second floor of their expansive store.  The event was held from 6-9 p.m. and included champagne, sweet treats, photos and a Jones New York Fashion show.

Fashion Trend: Peter Pan Collar Necklaces

Hello Beauties!

When I was in Chicago last weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting Terez of Dbabetta.  As we were heading to dinner with other BLM Girls in the Chi, I noticed her beautiful peter pan collared necklace.  I loved it so much that I asked her were she got it from and even attempted to find it the next day.

Peter pan collared necklaces are definitely the rage for the upcoming fall season and I love them!  They are perfect with t-shirts, shift dresses, collared shirts, button up shirts, etc.  They can bring a great pop to any outfit.  Plus, if you are not big into accessories, this could be the one piece you invest in for the season.
