Guest Post: Secrets of a Self-Proclaimed Thriftista

Hello Beauties!

If you didn't know from my last thrifting adventure, thrifting is a passion of mine.  With that said, I'm thrilled that Kara from FabulousNFrugal is sharing some of her thrifting secrets.

Check out her secrets below:

I’m a thriftista and have been thrifting for over fifteen years and want to share some tips to make sure that your next thrifting excursion is productive and fun—whether it’s your first time or your 100th time.

1.  Keep Your Cell Phone Close So You Can Do Quick Searches For Unfamiliar Designers
Come across a cute item, but are not sure that it’s worth the price? Solution: take out your phone and do a quick online search.  During one of my many thrifting missions, I found a Morgan Oakley bag for $7! Before doing an on-spot search to find out that this designer’s bags average upwards of $300 and $400 dollars, I had NO idea who Morgan Oakley was.  But once I learned that I was scoring not just a cute, leather red bag, but a designer, high-end, cute, leather red bag, I was even more excited about the purchase!

Outfit Idea: The First Date

Hello Beauties!

A few months ago, I posed a question on Facebook to see what readers would like to see on the blog.  One of the comments that stood out to me was a blog showing an outfit you can wear on a first date.  As I was going out to sushi last week, I realized that my outfit could certainly be worn on a first date so I wanted to share.

My Favorite Products for Natural Hair

Hello Beauties!

On Facebook, I have received a few questions lately about my natural hair.  Because of this, I have decided to record a few videos sharing what products and methods tend to work for my hair.  I decided to start off with a video on my favorite products for natural hair.

My hair requires a great deal of moisture so all of the products I have talked about in the video aid in keeping hair moisturized and shiny.  To see more, watch the video below:

Adventures in Thrifting

Hello Beauties!

It has been awhile since I have been thrifting, but on Friday, I had the opportunity to get out there and scour the racks.  I definitely experienced the good, bad and the ugly (not really ugly) portion of thrifting.  The great part is that I equipped with the best tool (patience) and a great thrifting partner.

My first and only stop was to the Goodwill Community Foundation in Goldsboro.  I spent about an hour in this store and found three items I loved.  When I go into thrift stores, I always tend to check accessories first and then head straight to suits and blazers.  This floral jacket/blazer immediately caught my eye.

Model Model Pose Deep Weave Review

Hello Beauties!

As the weather gets colder, I know so many of us are reaching for protective styles to protect our natural hair.  I'm a big fan of protective styles and after four weeks, I decided to take down my curly partial sew-in.  I enjoy partial sew-ins with curly weave because they allow me to leave a portion of my natural hair out to appear more natural and I can style my leave out without applying heat.

This was my first time using Model Model Pose weave and after these four weeks, I wanted to create a brief review of the hair.  Check out my review of the hair below:
