Pool Ready + Three Body Positive Affirmations

Beauties,

Earlier this summer, Boutique +, the plus size brand you may know from JCPenney, gifted me with two swimsuits from their recent collection.  I'd been waiting for my chance to wear one of the swimsuits and last week, I finally had my chance.  I went to a local pool and of course, rocked the two piece they sent me.  This two piece, which is 70% off right now, is so comfortable with just a hint of sexiness.  When I received the set, one of the things I loved most was the sheer panel along the top of the bottoms.  As I was waltzing around the pool in my swimsuit, I realized that one of the main things I felt that day had nothing to do with my swimsuit.

I felt comfortable.  Society often assumes that plus size women are uncomfortable in their bodies.  That we should stay covered and not draw attention to ourselves.  For me, that's just not happening.  I love to dress up and be fabulous; however, I have to admit that last year, I felt nervous about rocking my swimwear to the pool.  You know what I did, though?  I did it anyway!  Now this year, I'm enjoying the fruits of pushing through those uncomfortable moments.  This year, I felt completely comfortable in my two piece.  I felt good, I felt sexy.

Do I feel completely comfortable with my body everyday?  Absolutely not.  As you continue to enjoy your summer, here are three affirmations I want you and I to say to ourselves:

1.  I'm beautiful at any size.
2.  When I think that everyone is looking at or talking about me, they are likely not.
3.  It's too hot for covered arms and legs.  My arms and legs deserve to be out.
