Beauty | Daytime Smoky Eye

Hello Beauties!

Over the weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to be the special guest at the iGrind Coffee Chat in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I knew going in that this was something completely new for me.  I would be talking about key elements to a successful website or blog and budget friendly marketing materials.  This was my first time going to an event and not talking about natural hair or beauty. However, I decided that although my topic was different, I still wanted to show that I am passionate about beauty and natural hair.

When choosing my makeup for the event, I chose to do a daytime smoky eye.  I love this look because it's pretty yet subtle.  It was also easy to wear almost any lipstick with.  The best part is that the my eye and lip colors were very affordable.  Most Wet 'n Wild products can be found at your local drugstore for $5 or less.

Ben Nye Banana Powder
Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder

I love mixing drugstore with high end makeup!  Do you like the look?  What is your favorite makeup look for daytime?

God bless & stay fabellis,

  3. I love this makeup look! I've been trying to find a new everyday face that's a bit more dramatic. Question though…How do you like the MAC Gold Deposit Mineralize Skin Finish? I've been on the fence about getting it...

  6. Love the lipstick and the eyebrows are flawless! I like to keep my makeup simple since I don't wear it often. I usually do a little mascara, lip color and a smokey eye.

  13. Love your look. I tend to stick to high-end makeup, but it's so expensive. Lately, I've been trying to pick up a piece of make-up here and there from Walmart or the drugstore. Love your lip color, that's so affordable too. I tend to stick to neutrals for the daytime.

  18. Thanks Janessa! You can be good at applying makeup! If you get the chance, visit Sephora or MAC on one of their non-busy days which may be a Monday or Tuesday and they will give you great tips. I learned from them and YouTube.

  19. Thanks so much! I honestly love MAC Gold Deposit. It is one of the few things from MAC beyond concealer and foundation that I have bought more than once. I use it under blush and as a highlight. Lasts awhile!

  20. Thank you! :-) I know this palette may be discontinued in some stores. If you can't find it, Comfort Zone is an eight pan palette I love too!
