Beauty | Wet 'n Wild Color Icon Metallic Liquid Lipstick Review & Swatches

Beauties,

A few months ago, one of my favorite drugstore brands, Wet 'n Wild, began sharing peeks online of their limited edition products they recently released.  I'm a huge fan of this brand and have been using their products for years.  I love seeing their new releases each year and this year, their Metallic Liquid Lipsticks really caught my eye.  While I know some are not fans of metallic, I love metallic lippies, blushes and highlighters.  I recently found all of Wet 'n Wild's Metallic Liquid Lipsticks in store.  Now that I've had time to play with them, I'm giving you the complete rundown of these products.

My Thoughts

First of all, I cannot get over the fact that these lipsticks are available in-store and online.  I have been buying Wet 'n Wild for YEARS and I believe this is the first time I've seen them offer their limited edition items online.  I'm so happy to see this and I hope that Wet 'n Wild will continue to offer their whole collection online.  With that said, I naturally was on the hunt for these before Wet 'n Wild made them available online.  I actually still have not seen these in my area.  I happened to try Rite Aid while visiting my mom last month and finally found them!

I found the entire collection and bought five of the six colors.  I tried them the next day and of course, I love them.  These lipsticks go on smooth and opaque.  One coat will do you, but I always like to put on two.  I found them to be very long lasting, but my only con is that they are transferable.  This is the type of lip product that you may have to reapply after eating a heavy meal.  It doesn't move much with just typical drinking and snacking, though.  I noticed that I got longer wear with a lip liner.

Also, if you are wondering if these are comparable to any higher end lipsticks, several people have said that My Tulips Are Sealed is comparable to NARS Orgasm.  NARS Orgasm used to be my favorite lippie in college and I can tell you that My Tulips Are Sealed is definitely a great dupe of it!  Overall, in looking at the collection, I really wish that Wet 'n Wild would have provided a variety of colors in this collection.  I mean it's really just pinks, one red and one purple option.  I would have loved to see a nude or brown added.

Would I Recommend?

Yes, but only if you're a fan of metallic lipsticks.  These definitely have a glittery look (not feel) to them so if that's not your thing, I would pass.  To learn more about these lipsticks, click here.

Which color is your favorite?

God bless & stay fab,
