Personal Style | Thrifty Plus Size Valentine's Day Lookbook

Beauties,

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I thought it would be great to share some love day style with you.  I created a Valentine's Day lookbook with a slight twist.  I created a thrifty lookbook because I believe in not only thrifting, but finding incredible deals even in regular retail stores.  Each look I created with key pieces I found for prices ranging from three to ten dollars.  I hope these looks will give you some inspiration whether you're hanging out with your girls or you boo.

Look #1 - Galentine's Day

The first look I created was specifically for hanging with the girls.  I love that so many women decide to get together and celebrate.  I still remember hanging with some of my co-workers and going to the movies one year.  It was fun because I got to hang out, laugh and not feel like I was missing anything at all!  With this look, I opted to do a slight mix of feminine and masculine.  I took this leopard shirt I thrifted over the summer and paired it with these jeans I recently bought for only $10 at Gabe's.  I added in my favorite boots, faux fur and fringe for a little edginess.

Tip:  If you want something new without breaking the bank, try finding a printed button up shirt like leopard or stripes from the thrift store (or clearance racks) and pair with ripped jeans.

Look #2 - Movie Date

Now this look works great whether you're with your girls or your boo.  When it comes to going to the movies, you can still be fierce while being comfortable.  I decided to style these Lane Bryant printed shorts I recently bought for $3 at Gabe's.  I paired them with a clearance tank I found at Target for under $10 and a clearance jacket I found at Cato Fashions for under $10.  I really love this look because these shorts can be worn all year long since they have a black base.  I can pair them with dark tights for colder months and remove the tights in spring and summer.

Tip:  Look in your closet!  I guarantee there is piece you thought you could only wear in spring and summer that can be worn now.  Try pairing tights with printed shorts, short overalls or regular denim shorts.  Fishnets would be extra sexy!

Look #3 - Fancy Dinner

If you're going to dinner for Valentine's Day, try a great dress!  Although I love black, I decided to wear a red dress for the look.  Not only is it befitting for the day, but I love that this dress has a cold shoulder design.  I purchased this dress on clearance at Lane Bryant for only $10 last year.  I saved $80!  I paired it with Sonsee full tights and booties.

Tip:  If you're uncomfortable with a bodycon dress, try a fit and flare dress.  It can be sexy and comfortable.  A great place to look for a discount dress are places like Gabe's, Marshall's, TJ Maxx, etc.
