The weather here in North Carolina has just been strange this winter. I've never seen so much snow and ice in all the years I have lived here and every time we get a glimpse of warm weather, the bitter cold tries to return. I've mentally decided I'm over it. I am more than ready for spring and when I saw these floral shorts in New York & Company last week on sale for 50% off, I was immediately in a spring state of mind.

As I was going out to sushi last week, I realized that my outfit could certainly be worn on a first date so I wanted to share.

If you know me, you know I love a great bargain! A few weeks ago, I shared on Facebook that H&M was having a great clearance sale. Needless to say, I racked up! The funny thing is that I went two days in a row and on the first day, a particular pair of blue pants stood out to me. I didn't get them because they were a few sizes too bigor so I thought. The next day, I went back and they were still there. Alas, they were meant for me!

Let's keep it real for a second... Who else is on a budget besides me? Since I'm on a budget, I try to get the most out of clothing I do purchase. Because of this, I often shop the clearance racks and take advantage of thrifting. Today I chose to remix a dress I thrifted last year for only $3.50.Did she say $3.50?! Yes, I did!
I originally wore the dress in December with boots to make it winter appropriate, but today, I swapped out the boots for platform sandals and a belt to accentuate my waist.

With my birthday approaching Saturday, I spent a few days last week scouring the internet for an affordable, chic birthday outfit. Ever since I saw this Simply Be romper,which looks nothing like the romper I ended up choosing, but I digress... I had it fixated in my mind that a romper was what I wanted. Why? Well, rompers are fun and all inclusive. I prefer one piece that I can throw on and be out the door.
With this in mind and the fact that I am traveling to Chicago, I thought a romper is the way to go. After searching for a few days, I came back to this beautiful ASOS romper I saw online a few weeks ago.

Many of you who follow me on Facebook and Twitter have probably noticed me encouraging women to attend the Naturally For Your Glory Meetup this Saturday in Concord, NC. I'm thoroughly looking forward to this event and if you didn't know, I will be speaking at this event. "Huh? Me?"
This is my first speaking engagement so one of my concerns,along with being semi-nervous, was what to wear! My style is always evolving, but two things I never stray from are basics and pops of color. I decided to incorporate these two elements along with a print to create my first Polyvore outfit.

Recently I have been fascinated by the wonderful world of prints, but today, I kind of wanted to take it back to one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with a black dress in my book. In fact, if you really knew how long I have had this dress, you would either say I should be ashamed or congratulate me on my washing skills. I digress...
I decided to rock all black everything and even though it was a step in reverse to my "ode to trying new things," I enjoyed the reminder.

While visiting Charlotte last month, I was able to make a quick stop at a local Goodwill. Although I didn't luck up like the last time I was in area, I grabbed a great pink blazer that was in excellent condition. When I lucked up on a pair of snakeskin platforms over the weekend, I knew that the blazer would be perfect with the shoes.
Here's a look at my outfit of the day:

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My weekend was very busy, but one of the highlights of my weekend was celebrating my friend DiOnna's birthday. She and I had a great time and it gave me a great excuse to dress up.

One of the best parts about blogging and following fellow bloggers is that you constantly inspire each other. Last month, I was reading a post from STYLISH CURVES about mixing prints and it really made me think for a moment. I realized that although I may do various color combinations, I have never mixed prints. I was intrigued so I took a baby step into trying it out.

The great thing about this outfit is that I literally purchased just about every piece off of clearance ranks. I am a huge clearance and thrift store shopper. Sometimes you can score the best pieces if you just take the time to look!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! My holiday was wonderful. It was filled with laughs, food and family. I enjoyed being able to be home for a few days without any obligations. Now that Christmas is over, it's back to work. (insert sad face)
I will say that the highlight of my work week has been the opportunity to finally wear teal dress I purchased on my most recent thrifting adventure.

I got the vision in my head for this outfit randomly and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Also, one last thing I wanted to mention is... The winner of my Sephora gift card giveaway!
