Over the weekend, I took a trip to Greensboro and during my adventure, I decided to stop into the popular store, Sisters Jewelry and Gifts. I recently won a gift card from a giveaway contest they held on their Facebook page. After winning the contest, I was excited to stop in and check out what they had to offer.

Thank you to so many of you who have entered the giveaways I have held to celebrate my birthday month. August is so special to me and with the unexpected success FabEllis has received, I wanted to share some of the blessings with you. I have one more giveaway for my birthday celebration. Because of this, it was no surprise that when I came across Haute37, that I fell in love. The pieces on the jewelry website based in Texas are truly beautiful and not only that...affordable! I was tickled when I was given the opportunity to choose two items from the site. I couldn't wait to put them on when they came in the mail.

Before I jump into this post, I want to thank all of you who continue to read and support this blog. Beauty writing has been a passion of mine since college and I'm happy to share that I was just offered an opportunity to be the beauty writer for Kinky Curly Koily Me, which is a popular, natural hair website created by the owner Jenell. I feel blessed to have the opportunity and I have some great things in store. I will keep you posted on when to expect the first posting.

As many of you may know, I am loving this season's hi-lo trend. In a recent post, I showed the purple hi-lo shirt pictured here that I scored for $10 from Conway. On that same day, I found a great, striped hi-lo skirt at Forever 21. Since it was less than $20, I scooped it right up. Did I mention it was the last one? Yup!

As many of you may know, my schedule throughout the past few weeks has been crazy! Thankfully, my schedule is slowly returning to normal and with this, it means more time to devote to my passion, which is the blog. Thank you to everyone who continues to read, comment and/or support my vision.
To celebrate the return to a more normal schedule, I felt it would be a wonderful opportunity to host another...*drumrolls*... GIVEAWAY! I have had a hectic schedule over the past few weeks, but I wanted to take the time to do two things. First, let me say to you all... Happy Thanksgiving! I pray you all have a wonderful holiday. We all have so much to be thankful for.
I am thankful personally for God allowing His favor in my life and blessing me to not only make a move back to a bigger city but blessing me to have a great career change since last year. Being able to work in an area you are passionate about is a blessing.
The other topic I wanted to discuss is thrifting. Recently, I was able to take a trip to Charlotte where I had an awesome adventure in thrifting. I was able to pick up some great pieces and recently I wore two of my favorite (and cheapest) finds. Take a look...
After having the sweater dry cleaned (...it's wool) and washing the dress, I was finally able to wear them.

Happy Friday Eve! Lately I have been thinking a lot about the direction I want my blog to go in. You all know I love all things beauty and of course, natural hair; however, I do want to try and incorporate more fashion into the blog because fashion is a love of mine as well.
I recently saw a trend that I am really loving. I love to accessorize and years ago I loved piling on the bangles. I had taken a step away from that for awhile, but I recently saw Closet Confection's blog and I loved the way she styled her bracelets and watch. She basically put her watch, bangles and link bracelet all on one wrist. I fell in love with the look.
Although this may not be new to all of you, doesn't it seem fun? Plus, it's a beautiful way to dress up a t-shirt and jeans or add extra pretty to an elegant outfit.
