Product Review: ZOYA Nail Polishes (Dree & Sunny)

Hello Beauties!

Today I wanted to do a review of the long-awaited ZOYA nail polishes I received a few weeks ago.  As you may know from a previous post, ZOYA was giving away two bottles of nail polish for free.  All you had to pay was the shipping, which was $6.95.  Since each polish is $8, this meant a savings of $16.  I had heard rants and raves of this brand so I felt it would be a great opportunity to try it out for myself.

For those of you who may not have heard of the brand ZOYA, this brand is popular for several reasons including the fact that it is formaldehyde-free, vegan friendly and long-wearing.  They also have over 300 shades of nail polish.  (Crazy, right?)

After scouring their website, I chose the colors Dree & Sunny.

According to Zoya, Dree is... "A light, dusty drab olive green with yellow tones and a touch of grey.  Brings the look of camouflage to your nails for a subtle green look."

Also, Zoya describes Sunny as... "Bright metallic coppery-orange with brown undertones and fine red and golden frosty shimmer.  A gleaming metallic in a rich autumn shade great for cool weather."

Swatches

Two Coats
Pros
  • Extremely long-wearing
  • Variety of colors
 Cons
  • Expensive ($8/bottle)
  • Slow shipping

My Thoughts

Dree was a color I had been looking for for quite some time.  A true green is difficult to find because many, depending upon how dark they are, end up looking black after two coats.  I am extremely satisfied with the colors.  I do feel that Sunny would take about three coats to get a more opaque look.  Also, they are very long-wearing.  I work on a computer all day and a cash register 2-3 nights a week and it lasted an entire week with very little chips.

My only dissatisfaction with these polishes are the shipping time and the price.  I ordered these during a promotion so I felt that it would take time to receive them, but it literally took an entire month to receive them.  I have ordered plenty of items before during a promotion and NEVER has it taken so long...NEVER.  Also, I realize that these polishes are toxin free, but when you can run to the drugstore and pick up Sally Hansen polishes which are one of the best drugstore brands for $5, the price DOES seem kind of high.

Would I purchase again?

No.

I didn't technically purchase these (smile) because of the promotion at the time.  However, if there was no promotion, would I buy these again?  Probably not.  I think they are too expensive honestly and I wouldn't trust their shipping time again.

So, what do you all think of ZOYA?  Yay or Nay?

Thanks for reading & God bless!

  3. Eh, A bit pricey. And I really hate waiting for over a week for anything. But that green is amazing!

  6. Oh wow I love these colors but I really don't think I'd pay that much for nail polish. Maybe that's why my nails are always chipping right after I paint them, lol. I've heard really good things about Zoya nail polish remover though. Just haven't been able to get my hands on a bottle yet.
