Events | Macy's Welcomes Makeover Master Clinton Kelly Recap

Hello Beauties!

Last Friday I had the amazing opportunity to see Clinton Kelly at Macy's at The Streets of Southpoint in Durham, North Carolina.  After watching Clinton for over 10 years on television, I could not believe I was going to have the opportunity to see him in person in my home state.  His sold out presentation included a fashion show, question and answer portion and more!

When I arrived at Macy's about half an hour before the presentation began, I knew that I was in for a treat.  As I walked near the presentation area, music greeted my ears and waiters were all around with delicious appetizers and drinks for guests.  Most of the chairs were already full of guests waiting to see Clinton Kelly.

I was taken to the front to a white couch.  On the white couch were Macy's coupons as well as a silver pouch containing Estee Lauder samples.  The show started promptly and after being introduced, Clinton Kelly graced the stage.  He started off by sharing some of his work history, including "What Not to Wear" and "The Chew."

He then asked for a volunteer from the audience to step into "What Not to Wear's" infamously known 360 mirror.  Although sometimes brutally honest on the show, he eloquently gave fashion advice.  He shared that if you are going to wear cropped pants, try wearing a wedge to elongate the leg.  After the 360 mirror, the fashion show began.  For each type of look in the fashion show, he shared a young, curvy and mature version.  I loved all of the styles!

Once the fashion show was complete, Clinton took questions from the audience.  Questions ranged from bathing suits to wedding dresses.  As the hour came to a close, Clinton Kelly shared several golden nuggets with the audience.

"You've got to stop comparing yourself to other women. You have your own set of gifts." - Clinton Kelly

"You have to forgive people for the negative things they have said to you." - Clinton Kelly

I had an amazing time at this event!  Clinton Kelly is personable, funny and everything I imagined him to be.  To see more photos from this event, click here.

  1. I love Clinton Kelly and would have loved to have been at that event! How exciting for you!!! I've been known to watch more than one marathon of "What Not to Wear!" I especially love the models in their white attire and the white/floral dress. All of the hand bags are amazing! Now I want to go shopping!

  3. I've been waiting for this! So glad you shared the photos from the show -- I love those looks. I told you about the cropped pants -- he's just being nice when he said wearing them with wedges is ok. He really doesn't like it. It will be you up there giving fashion advice one day!

  7. Thank you for sharing! I love a lot of the looks that the models walked in. If you had to name your top three looks from the show, which would they be? So far, mine may be all three looks (Young, Mature, and Curvy) of the all white look.
