Trend Alert: Leopard Wedges

Hello Beauties!

I wanted to share with you all one of the hottest trends for this fall and winter.  LEOPARD WEDGES!  Leopard is a perfect pop of pizazz to any outfit.  It also can be worn to dress up an everyday outfit like jeans and a tee shirt or go professional with a pencil skirt and blazer.

I first saw this trend last year with a young lady who had purchased her pair from Zara.  I searched for MONTHS to find a pair that I liked.  A few weeks ago I finally found my pair (and for a great price)...

Target:  $29.99

Aren't they gorgeous?  When I saw them online, I instantly fell in love.  They are EXACTLY what I was looking for and for an incredible price.  Ladies, if you're looking for a great way to spice up your outfit this season, get you a pair of these!  God bless.

Product Monday: Rimmel London Airy Fairy Lipstick Review

Hello Beauties!

It's Product Monday again!  I'm glad that this Monday I'm actually able to post.  As many of you know, I was sick all of last week.  At one point, my temperature shot up to 103 so needless to say, I had a rough week.  Thankfully, I am feeling better and I was able to return to work today.  Thank you for all of your thoughts & prayers.  God is truly good.

Now let's get into the Product Monday...

So, I have to be honest, I think I might have a fetish for nude and pink lipsticks.  LOL!  They go with almost any look so it's always something I reach for.  I had heard about Rimmel's Airy Fairy lipstick before via famous London YouTuber BeautybyJJ.  It appeared to be such a pretty pink color that could fit anyone's complexion so I picked it up a few weeks ago from Walgreens.

Pros
  • Costs less than $7
  • Creamy
  • Flattering on all skintones
Cons
  • Does not last long on lips

All in all, this lipstick is one I would definitely recommend.  I think it's a great color for every woman to have  and it's affordable.

What are some of your favorite nudes?  Let me know.  God bless you.

Product Monday: Milani Infinite Liquid Eye Liner Review

Hello Beauties!

Happy Monday!  I hope that you all had a better Monday than I did.  It was quite the busy day, but thankfully, it's over!  The best thing about Monday though is getting to share a product with you that I've tried so let's get into it...

Now I don't know about you ladies, but I love playing in eyeshadow.  It's so fun and gives you an opportunity to be creative.  Now although I love playing in shadows, sometimes you want just a simple, classic look.  One of my favorite looks is a winged eye with a nude/pink lip.  The only issue I have run into when it comes to a winged eye is finding a product that is truly waterproof because on my oily skin, some of them fail the test.

Over the past few months, I have become a huge Milani fan because some of their products outshine a lot of designer brands.  I have been using their Infinite Liquid Eye Liner for quite some time and although it's a tad tricky, it's one of my faves.

Here are a few photos:

Price$6.99
Location:  Drugstores
Claims"...lasts up to 24 hours"

Pros
  • Long-wearing
  • Intense black color
Cons
  • Takes awhile to dry if applied too thickly
  • Brush can be difficult to maneuver if unfamiliar with eye liners

All in all, I love this eye liner.  It literally lasts 24 hours and does NOT smudge.

Tips
  • Unless you have a great deal of experience with liners like this, you may want to apply the liner with an angled brush instead of the brush it comes with.
  • Remove with a waterproof, oil-type of eye makeup remover; it does not remove easily with only soap and water.
What do you think?  Have you tried any Milani products?

God bless you.

Natural Hair Salon: Taji Shabu (Raleigh, NC)

Hello Beauties!

I pray you all are doing awesome and have had a great weekend!  My weekend has been filled with great company, good food and love.  All three were much needed.

I wanted to take the time to do two things today.  First, let me say that I truly appreciate everyone who reads and follows my blog.  Creating this blog was something that many encouraged me to do and although I was apprehensive at first, I'm glad I decided to take their advice.  It has been a blessing to me that people even take the time to read it and I'm thankful for it.  Thanks for following my blog!

The second portion of my blog is dedicated to giving credit where credit is due.  I chose to go back natural in March of this year.  Since I have been natural, it has been a journey because I wasn't altogether sure how to care for my hair nor what works best for it.  There are also not many salons that cater to natural hair.  Since I have moved to Raleigh, I have been blessed to find Taji's Natural Hair Styling Salon.

I have visited this salon twice and was blessed with the owner, Taji, doing my hair and then the second time with the lovely, Ifetayo doing my hair.  Both of these ladies worked wonders on my hair and the atmosphere within the shop was just great.  I absolutely loved it!  If you are natural and living in the Raleigh or surrounding areas, I highly recommend this salon.  Check out a few photos of my hair:

Product Monday: Sephora's Cream Lip Stain Review

Hello Beauties!

I know, I know...  It's clearly Tuesday and I'm writing about Product Monday.  Well, yesterday I was off from both of my jobs so I figured I would get some rest.  Naturally, I didn't forget about you all though!  :-)

A few Sundays ago, I was roaming through Sephora with my home girl Carmen.  We were browsing through Sephora's Ultra Vinyl Lip Pencils, which I mentioned HERE, when she pointed to the cream lip stains.  Now from prior experience, I had not been a fan of lip stains.  They seemed to be too dry no matter how much moisturizer you used beforehand.  Since Sephora is the world of makeup play, I decided to try them out and...  I was pleasantly surprised.  They do have a matte finish, but the colors are exquisite.

[Note:  Sorry for the dark photos!]

L - R02 - Classic Beige, 07- Dark Berry, 05 - Infinite Rose, & 03 - Strawberry Kissed

(After Drying)

I have worn these lip stains in their original form (matte) and with lip gloss.  I prefer them with lip gloss over; however, they last a great deal of time with or without lip gloss.  I have been able to wear the matte finish with no reapplication for an eight hour work day.

Price:  $12
Location:  Sephora In-Store & ONLINE

Here are a few photos with me wearing these lip stains:

Do you love lip stains?  Let me know what you think.  God bless!

H&M - $12.95

Forever 21 - $8.80

I think the last necklace is my favorite!  God bless.
